# Ducati continues Siemens MotoGP link-up into 2026

Ducati Corse, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer and current MotoGP world champion, has renewed its technical partnership with [Siemens Digital Industries Software](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/siemens-digital-industries-software/) for a further two years, taking the successful relationship through to at least the end of 2027.

Through using the Siemens Xcelerator’s multiple software and capabilities, Ducati has been able to fully leverage the digital transformation potential of the platform to meet the design and production demands at the cutting edge of motorcycle prototyping and racing.

Specifically, Siemens’ Fibersim software has helped bring down development timescales for complex carbon fiber parts to a matter of days, compared to weeks or even months as previously would have been the case.

“During race weekends, we can remotely design new components using Siemens’ technology, which are then sent to the track and printed on a 3D printer,” said Ducati CTO, Massimiliano Bertei. “In the world of racing, being able to modify your bike until the last second is crucial.”

With aerodynamics playing such a key role in the sport and the constant evolution of intricate and complex parts such as aero wings, the sport never stands still and engineers are continually fine-tuning the bikes in real time during race weekends.

By using Siemens’ tech in combination with 3D printing, Ducati have been able to test various modifications throughout a Grand Prix and undertake iterative developmental work that would otherwise be restricted to between races or the off season.

Sweeping technical changes are set to come into effect in MotoGP in 2027 too, with various significant engineering challenges on the horizon. Many of these have already been incorporated into manufacturers’ project timelines, but near instantaneous design-to-print processes will play a pivotal role in the coming season, as they will in pre-season testing.

On-track testing for the 2026 MotoGP season will start at the end of January, and with the number of permitted track days tightly restricted the ability to make on-the-fly design changes will again prove invaluable.

Ducati has been incorporating additive manufacturing into its engineering philosophy for a number of seasons, and [in 2022 worked with 3D printer manufacturer Roboze](https://www.voxelmatters.com/ducati-presents-2022-desmosedici-with-roboze-as-technical-partner/) as a technical partner, winning its first MotoGP title in 15 years. Roboze has since become a technical partner of the Yamaha team, recently extending the partnership through to 2030.
