After a challenging 2020 related to the global COVID pandemic, Austrian high-tech company In-Vision is starting the New Year with the appointment of a new management team: Florian Zangerl was appointed CEO overseeing commercial management, market and sales, human resources, and administration. Christof Hieger, who has been head of R&D over the last couple of years, will be leading the R&D and production divisions as CTO.

The company, based in Guntramsdorf near Vienna, and Boston (USA) develops and manufactures highly complex optical systems referred to as “Light Engines”. Based on Texas Instruments’ Digital Light Processing technology (DLP), they are the centerpiece in the industrial 3D printers produce by many leading manufactures.

The company is located in Guntramsdorf, outside of Vienna, Austria and its Light Engine products are mostly used for 3D printing, 3D metrology and lithography applications. The company manufactures its products exclusively at the production site in Austria and has two research and development departments in Austria and Boston, USA.

“With our optics and light engines, we offer a perfect technological basis for our customers. We will grow further in terms of volumes, geographies and areas of application,” said Zangerl. Apart from 3D printing, the company’s products are already being used for high-precision 3D measurement applications and in high-end simulators.”

Born in Bregenz Austria, Florian Zangerl looks back on extensive experience in sales and marketing. After a management buyout and seven years of entrepreneurship, he worked as the managing director of WEKA Industrie Medien, where he pushed the transformation of a publishing house into a modern and digital media company.

In November, In-Vision introduced the world’s most powerful light engine, which will enable unprecedented speeds in the printing process. The aim of the new management is to further expand the company’s market footprint along with the claim “Future built on light”.

“There are still many fields of application for a perfect combination of DLP and precision optics. Although DLP technology has already facilitated many groundbreaking technological changes, we are only at the beginning of what this technology can do,” explained Hieger.

Born in Vienna, Austria, Christof Hieger has been with In-Vision since 2017 and previously worked for ZKW Elektronik in Wiener Neustadt as Head of Module Production and Process Development. Hieger obtained two academic degrees in mechatronics and robotics, has published books and articles and holds several patents. Hieger lives with his partner and daughter in Wieselburg, Austria.
