Disney eyes LFAM 3D printing adoption with Haddy
The company's selection for the 2025 Disney Accelerator could lead to use of 3D printing for Disney amusement park props
The large-format 3D printing factory Haddy has been selected for the 2025 Disney Accelerator, a prestigious program that recognizes growth-stage companies driving innovation in creativity, technology, and immersive experience design. This marks a significant moment for the Haddy team, as it highlights the company’s pioneering approach to manufacturing through its AI-powered microfactory platform.
Being chosen by Disney—an iconic leader in storytelling and technological advancement—underscores Haddy’s potential to reshape the future of large-scale physical production. Considering the relatively low batch and large size of many amusement park props, the use of LFAM could rapidly become a game changer. Haddy’s platform enables the creation of fully recyclable, code-compliant architectural elements and structures at unprecedented speed. These capabilities support a wide range of industries, from theme parks and set design to retail and hospitality, reinforcing the company’s mission to make manufacturing fast, local, and intelligent.
The 2025 Disney Accelerator cohort includes only four companies, selected from thousands of applicants worldwide. Alongside Haddy are Animaj, a media company producing next-generation animations for kids using an AI-enabled production pipeline; DramaBox, which leads the vertical microdrama format for mobile storytelling; and LIMINAL Space, a pioneer in holographic 3D LED display technology that brings immersive content to life without requiring headsets.
The Disney Accelerator program, now in its eleventh year, offers these companies access to Disney executives, mentorship, investment capital, and potential collaborative opportunities across The Walt Disney Company. The program will culminate with a Demo Day in November, hosted at Disney’s Burbank studios, where participants will showcase their innovations and explore further partnerships.
For Haddy, this opportunity not only validates its innovative approach to industrial 3D printing but also opens the door to groundbreaking collaborations in entertainment, design, and environmental sustainability. The announcement has sparked excitement within the company as it looks forward to contributing to the next generation of experiential design and continuing to build at the intersection of technology, creativity, and impact.
