The list of previous partner countries includes strong Additive Manufacturing (AM) countries such as the US, China, Italy and, last year, France, but in 2023, the world’s largest AM fair will focus on Danish 3D printing and the strong Danish competencies within new manufacturing technologies to promote more sustainable manufacturing in the frame of the partner country concept.
Formnext in Frankfurt, Germany, is the world’s largest fair on Additive Manufacturing with 800 companies exhibiting the latest technology and attracting upwards of 30,000 visitors – it’s the place to go, in other words, if you want to experience the latest and greatest in AM and industrial 3D printing.
This year, there’s even more reason to visit the fair, as Formnext has chosen the Nordics as its partner region in 2023, with Denmark and Danish AM Hub as the leading partner accompanied by Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Danish AM Hub is currently working to expand AM in Denmark and raise awareness of Danish competencies in the promotion of more sustainable manufacturing using AM technology, where manufacturing is done with less waste, less material, less transportation, and fewer CO2 emissions. The Danish AM Hub is initiated and supported by the Danish Industry Foundation.
Frank Rosengreen Lorenzen, CEO of Danish AM Hub, is therefore particularly proud – and humbled – to see Formnext’s 2023 focus, especially on Denmark and the strong Danish small- and medium-sized companies designing, developing, and manufacturing more sustainably with the use of AM technology.

One of the decisive arguments for choosing Denmark as a leading partner in 2023 is that the Danish AM Hub and its partners and members have developed a CO2 calculator that visualizes the difference between AM manufacturing and traditional manufacturing methods, creating groundbreaking new knowledge and documentation of the potential of AM technology as a tool for more sustainable manufacturing.
These efforts are also the focal point at Formnext 2023, where the Danish contribution will make up an important part of a special Nordic pavilion – as well as the partner region edition of the Formnext magazine featuring Danish companies’ inspiring use of AM technology for more sustainable manufacturing. Danish AM Hub will also host a longer session on the Industry stage, where major Danish manufacturers and Danish AM Hub will debate the Danish industrial approach to sustainability for the international attendants.
Formnext takes place on 7-10 November, but on September 21, Danish AM Hub also arranges Scandinavia’s largest AM conference in Copenhagen: AM Summit 2023 – with the participation of over 50 speakers, 50 exhibitors of AM technology and 500 participants – which this year will also be characterized by, that Denmark has now come to the top of the international agenda when it comes to creating a more sustainable production with new production technology such as AM.
