# DEEP Manufacturing a year ahead of schedule with Houston WAAM facility

[Large-scale AM specialist DEEP Manufacturing](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/deep-manufacturing/) has moved up the official launch date of its new Houston, Texas facility to May of this year, a full 12 months ahead of its original timeline, as the UK-headquartered wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) specialist pushes to accelerate its presence in the American market.

The 50,000 sq. ft. facility, which received its first manufacturing systems in late 2025, will operate four WAAM platforms at launch, producing carbon steel and nickel-based alloy components.

Active development work with Inconel 625 was also underway at the time of the facility's preparation, with additional systems, post-processing, and inspection capabilities planned for installation throughout 2026.

The Houston site is part of DEEP’s – of which DEEP Manufacturing is a division – broader $100 million investment in a permanent engineering and development hub in Florida, and the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Houston

“Houston represents a major step in scaling industrial additive manufacturing in the United States,” stated Peter Richards, Chief Executive Officer of DEEP Manufacturing. “By bringing our WAAM capability closer to customers in energy, defence and maritime sectors, we can dramatically reduce lead times for large, high-integrity components while strengthening supply-chain resilience for critical industries.”

## DNV-certified pressure vessel set for launch debut

The opening is scheduled for May 6, when the company's industrial 3D printing capabilities will be open to visitors and include a mock-up of a new pressure-rated vessel described as [the first WAAM part of its kind to be certified to Det Norske Veritas (DNV) standards](https://www.voxelmatters.com/deep-manufacturing-receives-new-iso-safety-certification/).

The company stated the strategic positioning of the Houston site was intended to bring its technology closer to a major hub for energy, subsea, and industrial engineering at a time when global supply chains remain under pressure.
