Software company Dassault Systèmes and manufacturing service provider Xometry are partnering to offer customers an integrated solution for ordering parts that facilitates the production workflow from concept to production. Through the collaboration, engineers using Dassault’s SOLIDWORKS and CATIA platforms will have automatic access to Xometry price quotes through the MAKE Marketplace. The integration enables Dassault Systèmes customers to obtain quotes without leaving the design environment.

Across the manufacturing and additive manufacturing industries, collaborations and advancements are being made that target a seamless workflow. The integration of quoting tools directly into design software is a big step in this realization, as it removes the need for several time-consuming steps. Typically, in order to receive a quote from a service provider, customers had to use a separate web interface and go through several steps.

Now, Xometry and Dassault Systèmes customers can receive price quotes instantly, all without leaving the design environment. If the quote is accepted, they can also confirm the manufacturing job from within SOLIDWORKS and CATIA. Users also have the option to seek out instant or manual quotes from other MAKE Marketplace suppliers.

“We launched the MAKE Marketplace in 2018 to make it easy for customers to design and manufacture,” said Sébastien Massart, head of corporate strategy at Dassault Systèmes. “Our partnership with Xometry takes this a step further. Customers can order high quality additive manufacturing or CNC machining parts in one click at the right price, thanks to Xometry instant quoting capabilities. This is all part of our vision to continuously reduce the friction that customers face going from design to manufacturing.”

The partnership, announced at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2020 in Nashville, establishes Xometry as the first “prime partner” for Dassault Systèmes’ MAKE Marketplace. As a “prime partner”, Xometry is recognized as a qualified service provider with industrial-grade quality certifications and production capabilities, as well as a high satisfaction rate. Dassault Systèmes says it plans to add more service providers to its prime partner program.

“Engineers need the right tools to do their job successfully, and this includes working with a responsive, trusted manufacturing partner,” said Randy Altschuler, CEO of Xometry. “As the leader in 3D printing and on-demand manufacturing, we have served many customers in the MAKE Marketplace since its launch. Through our deeper partnership with Dassault Systèmes, we can directly connect with customers and make a commitment to provide a quote on every customer query. It’s all about faster manufacturing.
