Stay up to date with everything that is happening in the wonderful world of AM via our LinkedIn community.

Danit Peleg, a Fashion Designer based in Tel Aviv, Israel, just launched a customization and personalization platform on her website, enabling customers to personalize and order the world’s first 3D printed garment available on-demand to purchase online.

In 2015, for her graduate collection at fashion school, Danit was the first to design and 3D print an entire ready-to-wear fashion collection – which was 3D printed entirely at home and brought her instant international recognition.

Now anyone can own a part of history. This is the first ready-to-wear 3D printed jacket available to purchase online. It takes more than 100 hours to print and assemble. It’s printed in Spain and assembled and shipped from Tel Aviv.

It’s a first step in the journey to a 3D printed world. Thanks to this revolutionary technology, every piece is unique, made to measure with your own customizations and its production process produces zero waste.

The jacket is printed with a flexible, rubber-like material and has a silky fabric lining that makes it super comfortable to wear. This is a limited edition of 100 jackets. Your jacket’s serial number will be 3D printed on its label and it will be shipped in a premium box.

In the future, as the technology improves, Danit envisions a world where anyone will be able to buy files and print clothes at home or at a designated store.

Her collection and the potential that printing clothes could have on the fashion industry has captivated the attention of millions globally. For the Rio 2016 Paralympics Opening Ceremony, Danit used her 3D printing technique to design and print a dress for Amy Purdy, a double-leg amputee who performed a samba solo. In 2017, Danit unveiled her second collection and released the first 3D printed garment available to purchase online.

Danit is also a TED speaker and has been featured in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. She is a graduate of Shenkar College of Engineering and Design and she is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
