# D3 and FGK partner on glass-ceramic 3D printing

The collaboration centered on D3's Micro Particle Jetting technology, integrated into the company's LAB II system, which processes technical ceramics and glass-ceramics to produce large, lightweight, and complex structures. Glass-ceramics offer low thermal expansion and dimensional stability under thermal stress, properties relevant to semiconductor manufacturing and aerospace applications.

FGK contributed materials research expertise to the partnership, working alongside D3 to qualify glass-ceramic formulations for industrial production. The two organizations positioned the collaboration as a way to combine academic research with manufacturing requirements, supporting the development of high-performance ceramic materials in Europe.

D3 opened the LAB II platform to companies seeking to develop and qualify ceramic materials for additive manufacturing.
