CurifyLabs has closed a $14 million Series A funding round co-led by Sandwater and HealthCap, with additional participation from Tesi (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd.), existing investor Lifeline Ventures, and with participation from U.S. customers and employees. Proceeds will fund U.S. expansion, supply chain infrastructure, customer support and further product development.

CurifyLabs’ Compounding System Solution (CSS) combines software, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-produced excipient bases and 3D printing technology to prepare individualized medications with reduced manual pharmacy work. Built-in quality control processes let the CSS produce tailored doses and dosage forms with greater precision and speed than the manual methods pharmacies typically use today, according to the company.

Pharmacies in 21 U.S. states and across Europe use the platform to compound and dispense thousands of doses daily, and the company said it would invest further in its supply chain as that network grows.

Platform’s newest printer compounds nine times faster

The new funding will support continued development of the CurifyLabs platform, including its newest product, the PharmaPrinter Aurum, which the company claims can compound medications up to nine times faster than manual processes. CurifyLabs’ technology carries ISO 13485 certification, and the company said it designed the platform to comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 503A and 503B standards governing non-sterile drug compounding.

Investors point to scientific rigor and market demand

“Personalized medicine is one of the most important frontiers in healthcare, enabling better patient outcomes and is experiencing solid growth. We are enabling more pharmacies to deliver personalized medicine in a safer and more efficient way,” said Morten E. Iversen, Partner at Sandwater. “CurifyLabs has built something rare — technology that combines clinical rigor with the speed and precision that busy pharmacy teams depend on. We are excited to support their rapid growth in the U.S. and beyond.”

“We have backed more than 136 life sciences companies over nearly three decades, and what sets the best founders apart is their ability to combine scientific depth with real-world execution,” said Daniel Karsberg, Partner at HealthCap. “The CurifyLabs team has done exactly that.”

Charlotta Topelius, CEO and Founder of CurifyLabs, commented: “This investment reflects the conviction our partners have in what we’re building. We have set a high bar for clinical rigor, product quality, and customer support, and this funding gives us the resources to raise that bar further.”
