CTME purchases multiple cold spray systems from Titomic

Fundación Centro Tecnológico Miranda de Ebro (CTME), the leading Spanish technology centre and engineering solutions provider, has purchased equipment worth €300,000 (AUD 495,000) from Titomic, a leading provider of cold spray solutions.

Titomic’s systems have proven to be highly effective in overcoming longstanding manufacturing challenges and provide highly desirable outcomes across a wide range of industries, including defense and aerospace – proving to be an excellent complement to CTME as it excels in researching, developing, and integrating advanced manufacturing technologies for critical sectors.

Titomic’s cold spray systems enhance CTME’s capacities – providing the specialized utility of low and medium-pressure cold spray to their processes, and enabling the application of metals and alloys at lower temperatures, and opening new avenues for research and knowledge transfer to its manufacturing clients.

The sale includes Titomic’s D623 medium-pressure and D523 low-pressure cold spray systems, alongside a powder feeder and an Integrated Spray Booth. The Integrated Spray Booth is equipped with dust suction and an XYZ robot for precise manipulation of the spray head – ensuring seamless transitions between the D523 and D623 systems based on the specific application requirements.

Essentially acting as a versatile 3-in-1 system, this setup enhances operational flexibility – enabling CTME to leverage the distinct capabilities of each system within a single, integrated environment. This configuration is designed to broaden CTME’s operational scope, facilitating the provision of diverse cold spray applications concurrently.

The purchase is associated with CTME’s participation in the SURFERA-PLUS project. It is financed by the Centre for Industrial Technological Development through the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. CTME has been awarded a grant for Excellence Technological Centres as part of this project
