Creality launches Filament Maker M1 & Shredder R1
Desktop system brings material control into 3D printing, letting makers reuse waste, cut costs, and create their own filament
Creality has launched its proprietary recycling system for 3D printing materials—Filament Maker M1 and Shredder R1—on Indiegogo, offering limited early-access pricing to first backers after validating strong interest.
The brand teased the crowdfunding campaign for the product line last month, and early testing and discussions within the maker community have returned solid feedback and a growing desire for recycling workflows, customization, and cost efficiency.
The launch of M1 and R1 expands Creality’s ecosystem beyond hardware and into material creation, as the company helps redefine desktop workflows and advances the 3D printing landscape.
As desktop printing continues to gain momentum and popularity, materials remain a relatively neglected area. Pre-made filaments, while convenient, have certain issues, such as failed prints, waste, rising costs and limitations in flexibility.
Directly addressing these common problems, Creality’s new line now enables users to reuse, modify, and produce their own filament, bringing even more creativity and potential to the 3D desktop printing space.
A Compact Workflow with Greater Control
The Shredder R1 processes properly prepared 3D printing waste into reusable material, while the Filament Maker M1 mixes, extrudes, and spools filament. Together, the components form a compact, desktop-scale workflow that integrates key steps of filament production.
Hands-on users will now be able to enjoy a workflow that reduces material costs by reusing prepared waste, and create their own custom filaments with different blends, colors, and additives.
The system also provides greater control over print outcomes and offers greater possibilities around small-batch and experimental production.
