# CR-3D unveils FieldRACK Mobile 3D printing system

[CR-3D, a German 3D printing technology developer](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/cr3d/), has unveiled the FieldRACK Mobile, an industrial 3D printing system engineered for extreme, real-world deployment. It combines a ruggedized industrial printer with a fully mobile, self-contained production platform, enabling [on-site additive manufacturing](https://www.voxelmatters.com/fieldmade-and-plastometrex-validate-3d-printed-metal-parts-on-site/) where conventional machines cannot operate.

Built on a shock-dampened tracked chassis, the FieldRACK Mobile is designed for use on construction sites, industrial facilities, ships, and in [disaster or crisis zones](https://www.voxelmatters.com/researchers-develop-sustainable-concrete-substitute-for-3d-printing/). It produces functional end-use parts directly at the point of need, independent of fixed infrastructure, ambient temperature, or terrain. The system is developed and manufactured in Cham, Germany, and is explicitly intended for extreme operational environments.

The FieldRACK Mobile is based on CR-3D’s established 19-inch rack printer architecture, re-engineered for mobile industrial use. The complete print unit is housed in a vibration-isolated, weather-sealed aluminum enclosure, allowing operation under shock loads, vibration, inclined angles, and during movement.

Despite its mobility, the system retains full industrial functionality. It features an actively heated build chamber (up to 60°C), a high-flow direct extruder capable of printing up to 350°C, fully automatic sensor-based bed leveling, contact-based nozzle calibration, integrated vibration suppression with motor synchronization, and a closed filtration system combining H14-class HEPA filtration with activated carbon.

Mounted on a tracked platform delivering up to 1,000 Nm of torque, a top speed of 30 km/h, and 100% climbing capability, the FieldRACK Mobile can access locations previously unreachable for additive manufacturing systems. It operates reliably in ambient temperatures from −20°C to +40°C and is protected to the IP65 standard.

Power is supplied by an integrated battery pack supporting up to four hours of continuous operation, with fast charging completed in approximately 2.5 hours. The total system weight, including batteries, is approximately 290kg. Control is handled via onboard touch display, wireless remote control, or USB-based standalone operation, with no mandatory cloud connection. Interfaces including CAN bus, Ethernet, and teleoperation readiness allow integration into defense, disaster response, research, and industrial environments.
