# Colibrium Additive launches M Line 4 x 1 kW system

[Colibrium Additive, a GE Aerospace company](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/ge-additive/), has launched its M Line 4 x 1 kW system for non-reactive materials at this year's Formnext. Building on the established M Line 4 x 400W system, the new M Line 4 x 1 kW system addresses customer requirements for increased productivity, offering [aerospace](https://www.voxelmatters.com/voxelmatters-aerospace-am-focus-2025-ebook/) and defense manufacturers a cost-efficient path to producing complex, high specification regulated parts.

With 2.5x higher laser power, the M Line 4 x 1kW system enables customers to meet certification requirements by combining high-quality printing for certain areas of complex, sensitive engine components with high-productivity printing in the less demanding areas of the same component.

The new M Line 4 x 1 kW version already supports CoCr and [Ni718 parameters](https://www.voxelmatters.com/continuum-powders-and-indo-mim-qualify-ni718-for-binder-jet-production/), with additional options under development. Existing M Line 4 x 400W system parameters remain compatible with the M Line 4 x 1kW system without compromising part quality. All parameters are fully visible and editable through the standard software suite WRX3, which also enables free access to sensor data and other operational data streams via an OPC/UA interface.

"The M Line 4 x 1kW system allows manufacturers to accelerate productivity without sacrificing quality,” said Philipp Schumann, Product Manager of M Line at Colibrium Additive. “It meets the rising demand, especially in highly regulated industries, for faster, more cost-effective production by combining precision where it matters most with efficiency across the rest of the part."

The M Line’s modular architecture supports economical, industrial-scale serial production by separating the Laser Processing System (LPS) and the [Material Handling Station (MHS) units](https://www.voxelmatters.com/ge-aviation-invests-in-five-m-line-metal-additive-production-systems/), allowing upstream and downstream tasks to run in parallel.

This flexible, expandable, and centrally controllable configuration reduces stoppage times from manual processes, such as powder supply or extraction, delivering significant time and cost savings.

Machine specifications for the 4 x 1kW version include a build area of 500(x) x 500(y) x400(z) mm; beam power of 4 x 1kW IPG lasers; and is currently compatible with CoCr and Nickel718 materials.
