China’s CISRI will install 200 metal 3D printers by 2025
According to sources from metal 3D printer manufacturer HBD, China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group – CISRI – will complete the installation of 23 metal 3D printers in 2021. These are mainly medium and large format machines, with plans to expand the fleet to a total of 150-200 metal 3D printers by 2025.
The company started to build its additive manufacturing center, CISRI G-Light, in 2019 and has been cooperating with Chinese metal 3D printer manufacturer HBD to develop laser powder bed equipment integrating additive and subtractive hybrid technology.
In just a few months, the company has completed the installation of 16 medium and large metal 3D printers. Among them, the extra large format HBD-1000 metal 3D printer, which is equipped with 4 lasers and features a maximum forming size of 1 cubic meter. In addition, the company has also installed four EOS M 400-4 quad-laser systems from EOS.
