Cognitive Design Systems (CDS), a French additive manufacturing software start-up, has partnered with Stratasys (SYSS) – becoming a Platinum Partner of the GrabCAD Software Partner Program. As part of this collaboration, Stratasys users will gain access to CDS’s cutting-edge software for additive manufacturing feasibility and cost analysis – known as Cognitive Additive.

Developed using AI and machine learning, Cognitive Additive enables users to transform CAD files into manufacturable products, while ensuring the feasibility and quality of parts. This complete, streamlined solution is currently available for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printers, and support for other technologies is planned for the near-future.

“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Cognitive Design Systems, which will give our customers access to cutting-edge capabilities that will revolutionize the way they design and deploy additive manufacturing. With the integration of CDS as a plugin into GrabCAD Print Pro, our customers will have the tools they need to solve meaningful business objectives and achieve their most ambitious goals with additive,” said James Berlin, Software Partner Program and Ecosystem Manager at Stratasys.

“We are excited to integrate SSYS GrabCAD Software Partner Program as a Platinum partner. The combination of CDS core manufacturability analysis technologies and the reliability of SSYS machines will provide our end-users unrivaled high-quality additive manufacturing experience, from design possibility explorations to printing operation,” said Georges Caseau, Sales Director at CDS.

With Cognitive Additive software, users can generate a dashboard result, including cost breakdown, printability information, and additive suitability assessment of selected parts with regards to a specific machine and material. This solution saves time and reduces print failure – making it well-suited for designers looking to convert concepts into reality. In addition to this, no advanced additive manufacturing training is required – making it a powerful tool for scaling a company’s adoption of 3D printing processes.
