Carbolite Gero joins ColdMetalFusion Alliance
Contributing decades of experience in vacuum and special atmosphere sintering

Carbolite Gero GmbH & Co.KG, has joined the ColdMetalFusion Alliance, along with other major industry players. Carbolite Gero and other Alliance Members are looking to create synergies and break down barriers for AM customers. The company’s involvement will enable customers to benefit from Carbolite Gero’s expertise which is founded on decades of experience in vacuum and special atmosphere sintering – technologies that few market players have mastered.
Carbolite Gero intends to work together with the ColdMetalFusion members to simplify the manufacturing chain and to give customers easy and secure access to the otherwise complex world of sintering. Beyond that, the company will collaborate with ColdMetalFusion customers from pilot-plant production to high-volume manufacturing sites.
Carbolite Gero’s solutions are utilized in many powder metallurgy manufacturing processes such as thermal/catalytic debinding, drying of parts after solvent debinding, stress relieving, and sintering in an inert gas, hydrogen, or a vacuum.
ColdMetalFusion is an alliance of industry-leading organizations with decades of experience in the fields of sintering, 3D printing, and classical industrial manufacturing. Together, ColdMetalFusion Alliance members provide services, equipment, materials, software, and know-how to customers in the metal manufacturing industry.
“Over the past 80 years, Carbolite Gero has become a global leader in industrial and laboratory oven and furnace solutions through a continuous effort to manufacture high-quality solutions with a current focus on energy efficiency. Cutting-edge technologies in our solutions provide customers worldwide with a competitive advantage and a significant return on investment,” said Dr. Timm Ohnweiler, head of International Sales and Product Development at Carbolite Gero. “Through the ColdMetalFusion Alliance, we hope to deliver an increased robustness to sinter-based additive manufacturing and directly address one of the most pressing topics in the market today – high scrap rates!”
“We believe the ColdMetalFusion Alliance will grow our market by cementing the ties between the Sintering & Additive Manufacturing Industries,” said Roberto Matteis, Managing Director at Carbolite Gero.
At Formnext in November, in Frankfurt, Germany, ColdMetalFusion Alliance members will demonstrate the Alliance’s mission of industrialization.
