Caracol, a global leader in large-format additive manufacturing, has officially opened its new U.S. headquarters and production center in Austin, Texas. The facility spans more than 10,000 square feet, tripling the company’s capacity for systems production and application development. This expansion marks a major step in Caracol’s long-term commitment to the North American market, allowing the company to deliver faster, create tailored solutions, and collaborate more closely with local customers.

With a U.S.-based supply chain, shorter lead times, direct technical support, and opportunities for co-development, Caracol is positioning itself as a key partner for advanced manufacturing solutions across the United States.

A Hub for innovation and manufacturing

The new Austin headquarters is designed to bring advanced manufacturing closer to U.S. customers. Over the past 12 months, Caracol has seen 224% growth in systems delivered, and this facility brings research and development, application testing, and large-scale production together under one roof.

Inside the site are dedicated spaces for assembly, testing, and delivery of Caracol’s proprietary Heron AM and Vipra AM robotic platforms. The headquarters also includes an application hub where local manufacturers can work directly with Caracol engineers to test materials, validate new applications, optimize production processes, and co-develop innovative solutions.

With the capacity to produce up to 100 Heron AM and Vipra AM platforms annually, the site is built to meet ISO 9001, EN 9100, and ISO 14001 standards, ensuring aerospace-grade quality, environmental responsibility, and efficient production. By expanding in Texas, Caracol embeds its innovation-driven and sustainability-focused approach in one of North America’s most dynamic industrial and technological regions.

Pioneering LFAM in the USA

Founded in Milan in 2017, Caracol was established to push the limits of additive manufacturing in terms of scale, efficiency, and sustainability. The company developed an integrated technological platform, combining hardware and software, capable of producing advanced large-scale components.

Its Heron AM system, powered by a patented extrusion head and dedicated software such as Eidos Manufacturing, enables the production of complex parts across industries like aerospace, marine, energy, design, and architecture. More recently, the company launched Vipra AM, designed to handle large-scale metal applications in some of the world’s most demanding sectors, including aerospace, shipbuilding, construction, and energy.
