One of the segments that have been most affected by Velo3D’s unique metal LPBF additive manufacturing capabilities, especially in terms of part size, is the energy sector. This industry has been reluctant to adopt AM and a late comer to the party but today it has become one of the most strategic segments for AM adoption.
Size matters, so does reliability
In this webinar we will explore how the increased reliability and repeatability of the Velo3D Sapphire solutions are enabling streamlined production, digital inventory and distributed manufacturing. Then we will see how the Sapphire XC’s size capabilities are opening the door to much larger opportunities, beyond 500 mm in height.
VoxelMatters invites you to join our webinar with Velo3D, on Tuesday, October 3rd 2023 @ 3:00PM CEST, where we will delve into the transformative power of additive manufacturing technology for the energy sector, with a focus on oil and gas power generation. Our expert-led webinar will include in-depth discussion of three industry-specific case studies, and will dissect the key benefits of embracing AM, such as the streamlined production of larger and more complex parts than were ever possible in the past.
We’ll also explore the broader implications of Factory 4.0 and how it ties into digital inventory management. We will explain how a digital inventory offers secure storage and management of intellectual property, enables collaboration on designs, and ensures consistency in the supply chain.
Seeing is believing
This webinar is ideal for stakeholders in the energy sector interested in learning about innovative technologies that can streamline their operations, enhance productivity, and reduce costs. Speakers from Velo3D include Technical Sales Engineers Brian Hawkes, and Sid Raje, Business Development Account Manager.
VoxelMatters, co-founder, Davide Sher will moderate the event, bringing his intimate knowledge of the AM sector and vast experience as a market analyst, with over 20 years of experience covering technology markets.
Together the group will discuss three case studies that have used the innovations enabled by Velo3D’s fully integrated Metal AM solution.
In registering, you will learn how:
- A choke valve trim printed on a Velo3D Sapphire metal AM printer for IMI Critical Engineering was successfully reproduced one year after its initial qualification using the same print instruction file across a global network of independent contract manufacturers without requalification.
- Rotating Machinery Services (RMS) developed a 483 mm Inconel® 718 shrouded impeller featuring a 2-degree shroud with minimal need for internal support structures, pushing the boundaries of conventional additive manufacturing.
- Upwing Energy needed a solution for high mix, low volume rotors to support down hole, natural gas extraction. They tested Velo3D’s Sapphire printed rotors against traditional billet and machined rotors at over 55,000 rpm to assess their performance in high-speed rotation. This evaluation included x-ray and dye penetrant testing to detect any structural weaknesses.
