Braskem launches filament spools through M.Holland eStore

Braskem launched two grades of polypropylene (PP) filament spools for 3D printing used for fused filament fabrication (FFF). These materials are designed to be used for industrial and personal 3D printing applications. The materials are available for online purchase through M.Holland‘s newly launched eStore in 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm diameters.

M.Holland already distributes Braskem’s filaments; the newly launched spools promise more continuous extrusion. The spools also encourage further use of Braskem’s polypropylene material, which is one of the most widely used commodity plastics. It is sought after for its high chemical resistance and hydrophobic properties; PP high failures rates have prevented its widespread use in additive manufacturing because of high failure rates. Braskem’s filament overcomes these challenges and offers a high degree of stability and printability, making it ideal for prototyping applications.

Braskem’s polypropylene filament is, moreover, recyclable. Its recyclability and Braskem’s demonstrated interest in recycling its materials make polypropylene doubly attractive for prototyping.
