The Brain4Industry Innovation Centre, led by the FZU – Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences officially opened its new campus. Established with the strategic goal of supporting industry development in Czech, the Brain4Industry facility will bring together scientific research, design, and industrial manufacturing under one roof; implementing advanced manufacturing, digital transformation and artificial intelligence at small and medium-sized companies. The new center integrates industrial 3D printing technologies by housing metal and plastic laser powder bed fusion systems FS301M-2 and FLIGHT@ ST252P from Farsoon Europe GmbH.

Supported by a team of experts in design, material, application, manufacturing and post-processing, the Brain4Industry Centre offers a comprehensive service around additive manufacturing including product design, topology optimization, and mathematical simulations for manufacturing. Along with professional 3D printing services throughout the entire product iteration, associated training are also available in selected technologies. This will allow Brain4 Industry Centre to develop its position as a technology incubator in the region using additive manufacturing.

“The interest of the private sector in cooperation with scientists from the Institute of Physics is steadily growing, which has already led to a number of interesting results. Industrial cooperation gives a new dimension to the work of our scientists, with our research immediately serving the public interest. I am glad that the Brain4Industry Innovation Centre will significantly develop this line and help Czech companies to become more competitive and will thus support the entire Czech economy.” said Michael Prouza, Director of the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

FZU – Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences is a prestigious public research institution specializing in fundamental and applied research across a diverse range of fields. With a staff of over 700 scientific employees, the institute is a leading research organization in Czechia with a vital role in advancing human understanding of physics and its applications in the world.
