Bosch Advanced Ceramics is being acquired by Sintokogio Ltd., positioning the Immenstadt, Germany–based contract manufacturer to expand capacity in additive manufacturing of technical ceramics. Agreements were signed on November 18 in Frankfurt am Main during the Formnext trade fair. The business will retain its focus on contract production of advanced ceramic components, with manufacturing processes, materials, and customer programs continuing unchanged through the transition. Sinto also owns 3D Ceram Sinto, a leader in industrial SLA ceramic 3D printing, which it acquired in 2017, and is active in sand binder jetting 3D printing through the Laempe division.

Under the new structure, the company will adopt the name Sinto Advanced Ceramics Europe GmbH at closing. Management will shift as well: Nikolai Sauer, currently chief technology officer at Bosch Advanced Ceramics, will become managing director of the European entity, while Sophie Berninger, the current chief executive officer, will take a new position within the Bosch Group.

“Becoming part of the Sintokogio Group opens up new perspectives and strengthens our position in a dynamically growing market,” said Nikolai Sauer, CTO of Bosch Advanced Ceramics. “Together, we will continue to drive the advancement of additive manufacturing of technical ceramics and deliver the highest levels of quality and reliability to our customers,” Berninger added that the team had built the business with Bosch Business Innovations GmbH since 2016 and thanked partners and customers for long-standing support. “Their expertise and market position are an ideal fit for our portfolio and open new opportunities in innovative industries,” said Atsushi Nagai, president of Sintokogio Ltd.

The deal stems from rising demand for ceramic 3D printing in production environments. Bosch Advanced Ceramics reported 115 percent year-over-year revenue growth at the end of the third quarter of 2025, reflecting broader adoption of additively manufactured components in sectors that require high temperature resistance, wear performance, and chemical stability. Integration into Sintokogio’s global network is expected to bring investment in technology, capacity, and quality infrastructure while preserving the company’s role as a specialist contract manufacturer.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
