# BMW Group to host second automotive AM conference

The "Additive Manufacturing @ BMW Group" conference returns on May 19–20, 2026, at the Leonardo Munich Arabellapark hotel, with BMW Group again serving as the host organization. The two-day event will bring together engineers, researchers, and manufacturing decision-makers to examine how additive manufacturing can be applied across the automotive production chain, from prototyping through series production.

![Join the BMW automotive AM conference on May 19–20, 2026, to explore cutting-edge additive manufacturing in the automotive industry.](https://www.voxelmatters.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/BMW_AM_Campus_BMW_cover-2-600x353-1.jpg)A guided tour of the BMW Group Additive Manufacturing Campus in Oberschleißheim, Germany, is scheduled for the afternoon of May 19. The tour will cover metal production using laser powder bed fusion and wire arc additive manufacturing, polymer production, process development, and quality assurance operations.

The opening session will feature a presentation by Timo Göbel of BMW Group on integrating additive manufacturing into the company's operations, followed by a keynote from Ralf Schwenger of HEAD GmbH on AM-enabled innovation. A session focused on scaling strategies will include a presentation from PIX Moving on vehicle architecture and a BMW Group session on wire arc additive manufacturing automation for series production.

The second day's program covers the broader automotive AM supply base, with presentations from Ford Racing and Nikon SLM on metal AM in motorsport and product development, Hyundai on additive manufacturing infrastructure, and Nissan on the technology's role in automotive development. A poster session on artificial intelligence in additive manufacturing will feature contributions from Picknik, AI Build, and the Technical University of Munich.

Registration fees run from €1,835 ($2,010) for super early bird bookings to €2,235 ($2,450) at standard rate. Download the full program here.
