BLT gains Airbus Atlantic A320 O-Ring work package

During the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, Airbus held a press conference at the Zhuhai Space Center and awarded metal AM hardware company BLT a new A320 O-Ring work package. Airbus China senior executives shared updates on Airbus’s latest developments in China and conducted a signing ceremony. BLT’s CEO and General Manager, Dr. Xue, was invited to attend the event.

As early as 2018, BLT achieved Airbus A330 production certification for metal additive manufacturing components, successfully becoming part of Airbus’s qualified supplier network. Through years of technical expertise and hands-on collaboration, BLT has earned Airbus’s recognition for excellence in metal additive manufacturing processes, especially for the serial production of large, complex aircraft components.

The new production package involves the manufacture of high-performance metal O-rings for the Airbus Atlantic A320. Metal O-rings are critical components in aerospace applications, used to create reliable seals in fuel and hydraulic systems, pressurized cabins, engine components, and landing gear systems. Made from corrosion-resistant superalloys, these O-rings must withstand extreme conditions, including high temperatures, significant mechanical stress, and exposure to corrosive substances. BLT’s proven expertise in producing such components ensures they meet the stringent requirements of modern aerospace engineering.

In this project, BLT will utilize its self-developed PBF-LB/M machine, the BLT-S400, along with its proprietary high-quality superalloy powders, to achieve the precise specifications needed for the serial production of these advanced O-rings. The use of metal additive manufacturing allows for exceptional material integrity and precision, critical for parts that play a vital role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of Airbus aircraft.

Over the years, BLT has demonstrated exceptional batch delivery capabilities, consistently fulfilling its commitments to stable and efficient delivery in Airbus collaboration projects. This reliability has enabled the partnership to expand in both scale and depth, establishing a solid foundation for broader and more enhanced cooperation. The signing of this new production package signifies a deepening phase in the Airbus-BLT collaboration.
