BIOMODEX brings its 3D printed anatomical twins to the U.S. market

Manufacturing is already underway at a new facility in Quincy, MA

French med tech company BIOMODEX has opened a new corporate headquarters in Quincy, Massachusetts. The new facility, which will house corporate offices and a state-of-the-art 3D printing laboratory, signals BIOMODEX’s entry into the U.S. market.

Based in Paris and supported by Dassault Systèmes, BIOMODEX is an innovator in the field of medical 3D printing, utilizing its technology to 3D print tissue-like anatomical twins based on patient-specific medical images. Notably, the company’s additive manufacturing platform is capable of creating realistic models, including complex blood vessels, which mimic the tactile feel and look of real anatomies.

The 3D printed model, based on MRIs and CT scans of specific patients are used by medical professionals to rehearse complex procedures, as well as to test new medical instruments and devices.

Manufacturing is reportedly already underway at the new facility in Quincy, just over 10  miles from Boston. In 2019, BIOMODEX says it plans to 3D print thousands of anatomical twins for North American physicians, health systems, researchers and medical device manufacturers. Over the course of the year, the med tech company also aims to increase its work force at the new U.S. location.
