# BigRep partners with US government supplier Phillips Federal

Large-format additive manufacturing company [BigRep](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/bigrep-gmbh/) has entered into a partnership with Phillips Corporation, Federal Division, the U.S. government's leading manufacturing partner and supplier. The agreement between the two companies will reportedly see Phillips Federal become BigRep's largest federal reseller and could see BigRep's large-scale solutions increasingly used by federal and military agencies in the United States.

Phillips Federal, a division of Phillips Corporation, has been serving the U.S. federal government for over 60 years by supplying advanced manufacturing systems and services to various agencies. The company has several advanced manufacturing capabilities in its portfolio, including CNC machining, CNC bending and forming, laser cutting, electrical discharge machining, additive manufacturing and more. BigRep's large-format AM systems, which include the new [BigRep IPSO 105 3D printer](https://www.voxelmatters.com/bigrep-showcases-ipso-105-3d-printer-at-defea-2025/), will enhance Phillips Federal's AM capabilities particularly when it comes to fulfilling rapid tooling and replacement components. As the company says, the partnership will enable Phillips Federal to support federal agencies as they seek to shore up supply chains and solve complex manufacturing challenges in areas like aerospace, defense, public infrastructure and research.

In short, Phillips Federal is in a position to supply BigRep's large-format technologies to the U.S. government through its experience with federal contracting and procurement processes, and BigRep's technologies are seen as a good fit to support federal agencies in their objectives. "At Phillips, we’re focused on accelerating sustainable solutions that strengthen warfighter readiness," added Kelley Padham, Phillips Federal President. "Our partnership with BigRep brings large-format additive capabilities directly to the mission, enabling agile, on-demand support for critical defense systems."

BigRep seems to be increasing its focus on defense applications lately, having showcased the BigRep IPSO 105 3D printer (with a camouflage finish) at the recent DEFEA Defence Exhibition in Athens. The new system is engineered to be deployed at the point of need, including in a mobile unit, and can print a wide range of industrial materials, including polycarbonate (PC), nylon (PA), PEKK, carbon fiber-reinforced polymers, and flexible TPU. The idea with deployable AM systems—a niche but [growing corner of the AM market](https://www.voxelmatters.com/meet-the-four-companies-enabling-deployable-3d-printing-in-the-battlefield/)—is that troops and military units can benefit from decentralized and robust manufacturing in the field to meet needs in terms of spare parts, repairs and tooling that could be critical to a mission.
