The Metal Additive Manufacturing Symposium (MAMS) is to be held on the 27-28th July 2022 at the Taj Vivanta Yeswanthpur, Bengaluru, India to bring together the key stakeholders in the area of metal additive manufacturing from industry, government labs, and research institutions.

MAMS is an end-user and application focussed technical conference mapping the latest developments and trends in the world of metal additive manufacturing. A high-quality conference program will also be supported by a tabletop exhibition to enhance the interaction, networking, and business element. This is an initiative by the publishers of AM Chronicle and organizers of the industry-leading AMTech Expo and supported by the National Centre of Additive Manufacturing.

MAMS, Bengaluru aims to break the silos between industry, government labs, and the research institutions where independent progress is being made. However, for faster adoption of this technology in line with other regions, leaders across these three verticals must work together. This event will bring the entire metal AM ecosystem onto one platform – including users, software providers, hardware, policymakers, government labs, material manufacturers, researchers, academicians, and standards bodies.

To achieve the stated objective, a conference core committee has been constituted – which includes luminaries in the areas of additive manufacturing from industry, government labs, and research institutions to provide direction to the symposium and to ensure that the conference content addresses the prevalent hurdles in the industry. The committee consists of: Dr. Amaresh Chakrabarti, Senior Professor and Chairman – CPDM, IISc Bengaluru, Dr. Satyam Suwas, Professor and Chairman – Dept. of Material Engineering, IISc Bengaluru, Dr. Shirish Kale, Scientist G, Group Director, CEMILAC, DRDO, Dr. Dheepa Srinivasan, Chief Engineer, Pratt & Whitney R & D Center, Bengaluru, Vaman Kulkarni, Industry Expert – Ex-Director, Honeywell Technology Solutions, Dr. Jayaganthan R., Professor – Department of Engineering Design, IIT Madras, Dr. C.P. Paul, Head – Laser AM Lab, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology.

The topics covered at MAMS, Bengaluru will include materials and equipment for additive manufacturing, DfAM, L-PBF, EBM and DED, AM process, quality control, standards and certification, post-processing of AM parts, tooling, space and aircraft, automotive, medical, and recent research topics.
