# Batch.Works and E3D to scale circular 3D printing farms

[Batch.Works, a circular, localized 3D manufacturing company](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/batch-works/), has entered a commercial partnership with Oxford-based [E3D Online, an additive manufacturing hardware company](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/e3d/).

The partnership combines Batch.Works’ circular materials and software platform with E3D’s engineering and operations expertise to build and run next-generation 3D printing farms in the UK and globally. Together, the companies will enable brands, retailers, and designers to produce products on demand, closer to where they are used, with dramatically reduced waste and emissions.

“3D printing has always promised local, on-demand manufacturing - this partnership is about making that promise real at scale,” said Julien Vaissieres, CEO of Batch.Works. “By pairing our circular manufacturing platform with E3D’s world-class hardware and operations, we can offer customers an easy way to move away from overproduction and long, fragile supply chains.”

Under the agreement, E3D becomes Batch.Works’ key hardware and farm operations partner in the UK. E3D will build and operate dedicated print farms to produce Batch.Works’ own hardware alongside selected customer products, while Batch.Works will provide circular materials, software, and quality standards across the network. Customers already include [the likes of Disney](https://www.voxelmatters.com/disney-eyes-lfam-3d-printing-adoption-with-haddy/), Paul Smith, and M&S, and this partnership marks the next step in scale-up to support the growing client list. Recent projects include Kibu children’s headphones, developed with Morrama and Kibu, which were named Sustainable Design of the Year at the Dezeen Awards 2025 and Design of the Year by The Guardian.

“E3D has spent years pushing the boundaries of extrusion and printer technology,” said Joshua A. Rowley, CEO of E3D-Online. “Working with Batch.Works allows us to apply that expertise to a new generation of circular print farms - enabling customers to manufacture closer to home, with better performance and a much smaller environmental footprint.”

The partnership builds on [an Innovate UK–backed project between Batch.Works and E3D](https://www.voxelmatters.com/batch-works-and-e3d-partner-to-reshape-uk-am-industry/), focused on developing a new class of efficient, modular 3D printers and operating models designed specifically for circular, distributed manufacturing. The companies will now focus on scaling this model with UK-based customers across sectors such as consumer products, retail, interiors, and education.

Brands and organizations will be able to tap into the Batch.Works × E3D network to: launch new products without large upfront tooling or inventory; shift existing ranges to lower-impact, local production; prototype and iterate rapidly with a clear path to scale; and demonstrate tangible progress towards sustainability and net-zero goals.
