Bambu Lab launches H2D to rethink personal manufacturing
All-in-one personal manufacturing hub combines professional-grade 3D printing, laser engraving, cutting, and plotting in a single compact system
Bambu Lab has officially unveiled the H2D, a powerful new all-in-one personal manufacturing hub that combines professional-grade 3D printing, laser engraving, cutting, and plotting in a single compact desktop system. With this launch, Bambu Lab aims to completely rethink how makers, engineers, and designers approach desktop fabrication.
A niche of users highly appreciated most all-in-one 3D printers launched in the past. Still, they could not build a sufficiently large installed base, and the manufacturing companies are often no longer in business. However, color 3D printing on the desktop was also difficult to tame, and Bambu Lab was the first to do it successfully – even as it successfully expanded the consumer 3D printing market. Will Bambu Lab win this challenge? It remains to be seen if laser cutting – with all its complexities – can be successfully aligned with 3D printing (and all its complexities) and if this combined product will find a large enough audience within the huge global Bambu Lab user base to justify its existence and the development effort behind it.
A new category of machine
The H2D from Bambu Lab is not just an upgraded 3D printer with a few added tools. It’s an entirely new category of machine, built from scratch to perform exceptionally across every manufacturing function it offers. Dr. Tao, CEO of Bambu Lab, stated that the H2D represents “the realization of their vision to eliminate the typical compromises seen in multitasking machines. Rather than being a jack of all trades and master of none, the H2D is engineered to master each task individually, delivering high performance without sacrificing precision or reliability.”
With Live Spatial Alignment and integrated BirdsEye and toolhead cameras, the system offers 0.3 mm positioning accuracy to allow seamless switching between tools. Its dual-nozzle 3D printing setup supports a 350°C hotend and a generous 350×320×325 mm³ build volume. Combined with a heated 65°C chamber and top speeds of 1000 mm/s, it can handle tough engineering materials, including carbon and glass fiber-reinforced filaments. Laser engraving and cutting are made precise and safe thanks to integrated air assist, vision-based alignment, laser-safe windows, five flame sensors, AI-based fire detection, and comprehensive emergency safety protocols. It also supports precision vinyl cutting, custom stickers, and pen plotting, matching the accuracy of dedicated machines.
Next generation technology
Inside the Bambu Lab H2D lies next-generation technology that pushes the boundaries of desktop manufacturing. The vision-assisted encoder system delivers 50μm motion accuracy across the full build volume, previously only found in industrial equipment. The custom DynaSense Servo PMSM Extruder gives real-time control over torque, speed, and position, allowing for automatic detection of partial nozzle clogs and preventing filament grinding, resulting in smooth surface finishes even at high speeds. The eddy current-based dual-nozzle calibration system eliminates tedious setup, offering precise X/Y alignment for clean multi-material prints. An intelligent nozzle camera continuously monitors the nozzle tip using an AI-powered macro lens, detecting material buildup, spaghetti, air printing, and other extrusion failures instantly. Supporting it all is a filament monitoring system with 15 sensors strategically placed along the material path, tracking feeding speed, tension, thermal behavior, tip location, and extrusion pressure to ensure consistent print quality.
Bambu Lab also introduced a redesigned Automatic Material System to support these capabilities. The AMS 2 Pro comes with integrated filament drying and smart electromagnetic vents that automatically switch between drying and storage modes. This innovation resolves the usual trade-off between effective filament drying and long-term storage. For more demanding materials, the AMS HT version can dry filament at up to 85°C and features a low-resistance Filament Bypass Path to improve feeding performance for fiber-reinforced and flexible materials like TPU.
The H2D is available in multiple configurations to suit different needs. The base model, H2D, is tailored for advanced 3D printing users and includes a build plate, spool holder, and accessory box, priced at $1,899 and available starting June 2025. The H2D AMS Combo includes the AMS 2 Pro for better material control and is available now for $2,199. For users seeking additional capabilities, the H2D Laser Full Combo (10W) includes modules for laser engraving and cutting and is available for pre-order at $2,799, with shipping set to begin at the end of April. The most advanced version, the H2D Laser Full Combo (40W), is priced at $3,499 and also ships by the end of April.
While the H2D is packed with cutting-edge features, it’s best suited for users who already have experience with digital fabrication or are ready to invest time in learning the system. Those who do will gain access to one of the most powerful and flexible desktop manufacturing solutions ever released. All configurations are available through Bambu Lab’s online store and selected retail partners.

As others have said this is a disaster in the waiting because you have no way to exhaust the plastic fumes which will definitely corrode all the other parts as well as giving you very much health hazards especially if you use this in your home.
This should not be allowed on the market
