B9Creations introduces B9Clean for automated post-processing
The post-processing machine is available for pre-order for $595

3D printing solutions company B9Creations is aiming to improve and automate post-processing for resin-based 3D printing with the release of the B9Clean. The new product, being presented at the AGTA Tucson trade show this week, enables users to post-process 3D printed parts with no mess and minimal intervention.
Based in South Dakota, B9Creations offers a range of 3D printing products, including the B9 Core Series LED 3D printer, the B9Creator v1.2 3D printer, the B9 Scan 350 3D scanner and various materials, software and accessories. In the latter category, the company’ s latest release is the B9Clean, an automated post-processing machine for 3D printed parts.
The B9Clean device fits seamlessly into B9Creations’ 3D printing workflow, offering users a compact solution for finishing and cleaning parts. As the company elaborates, printed parts can be transferred directly from the B9 Core Series 3D printer to the B9Clean—even if they are still on the build platform.
“It’s no secret that it’s a messy process to go from a finished print to a final product,” said Shon Anderson, B9Creations CEO. “We wanted to address this pain point, delivering production-grade parts with post-processing to match. That’s why we developed the B9Clean, so the first time a customer touches a part, it’s printed, clean and dry. Coupled with our B9 Model Cure and B9 Core Series 3D printers, businesses have a simple, fast, automated solution—so they can focus less on process and more on results.”
The B9Clean gives users the option of various cleaning cycles—between one and 10 minutes—for greater flexibility. These cycle options also enable users to reduce the amount of cleaning solution they use, saving up to 75% of the material compared to other cleaners on the market.
For small parts, users can fill the B9Clean with a smaller amount of cleaning solution (1.3 liters), while larger parts can be submerged into 2 liters of the isopropyl alcohol solution. To facilitate the cleaning of smaller parts, such as jewelry, the cleaner also comes with an extended build table arm.
When the cleaning process is complete, the alcohol solution automatically drains out of the vat, eliminating the risk that parts will be exposed to the solution for too long. The parts are then air dried and fully prepped for post-curing in the B9 Model Cure.
The B9Clean is now available for pre-order. It is retailing for $595 and is expected to begin shipping in March 2019. Check out a video of the new product below:
