ATLIX widens global leadership team as it builds out its commercial footprint
Charlie Grace and Christopher Schmitz join metal additive manufacturing group in senior and growth leadership roles
ATLIX has named Charlie Grace President of ATLIX Inc. and global Chief Revenue Officer, and has appointed Christopher Schmitz to drive growth across the Asia-Pacific region, as the metal additive manufacturing company works to broaden its commercial footprint in the United States and Asia.
Grace, who also joins the ATLIX Management Board, will lead the U.S. subsidiary and take global oversight of Sales, Services and Technical Service. Schmitz will build a dedicated APAC sales team in what ATLIX called one of the fastest-growing markets for metal additive manufacturing, as Europe and the Americas remain its core markets.
Grace brings more than two decades of industry experience, most recently as President of Nikon SLM Solutions N.A. Inc. and Chief Commercial Officer of Nikon SLM Solutions globally. He previously held roles at ExOne, 3D Systems, EFI and Xerox.
Matthias Himmelsbach, Chief Executive Officer of ATLIX Group, said Grace’s commercial leadership and international experience would strengthen ATLIX’s growth strategy.
“ATLIX has a very strong portfolio and an amazingly talented team that is well positioned to accelerate its commercial reach internationally,” said Grace. “I look forward to working closely with Matthias, the Management Board and our teams around the world to broaden our commercial approach, deepen customer relationships and accelerate sustainable, profitable growth.”
Schmitz joins ATLIX from EOS, where he worked within Additive Minds, the company’s technical consulting unit, helping customers move additive manufacturing programs from feasibility testing into serial production. Based in Japan, he is credited with driving growth in aerospace and advanced manufacturing and helping make Japan APAC’s top-performing market.
Himmelsbach said Europe and the Americas remain the foundation of ATLIX’s growth, but that momentum is building in Asia-Pacific, calling the hire a deliberate step toward the company’s ambition to be a global player in metal additive manufacturing.
“Across APAC, the conversation in additive manufacturing has fundamentally shifted from testing feasibility to scaling production,” said Schmitz. “The team at ATLIX brings exceptional technical depth and manufacturing maturity to this market, and I’m excited to join them in driving our next phase of regional growth.”
