# Atlantic XL secures Lloyd’s Register additive manufacturing qualification

[Atlantic XL Inc., a provider of EPC and EPCM services to the energy industry](https://www.3dprintingbusiness.directory/company/atlantic-xl/), claims to have become the first company in North and South America to receive Additive Manufacturing Facility Qualification from Lloyd's Register (LR), following an independent audit of its St. John's facility in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

The qualification is issued in line with LR's “Guidance Notes for the Manufacture, Testing and Certification of Additive Manufactured Metallic Parts”, which was published in November 2025. The accreditation awards recipients a certification that their additive manufacturing processes operate under internationally recognized quality controls.

The certification covers all aspects of the company's [SLM 280 laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) 3D metal printer processes](https://www.voxelmatters.com/atlantic-xl-acquires-slm-280-system-for-energy-industry-parts/), including design, material handling, build procedures, post-processing and inspection.

“This qualification confirms that our additive manufacturing operations are underpinned by a robust quality management system and meet rigorous international standards,” stated Sean Morgan, Director of Operations at Atlantic XL. “The next phase of our certification journey will build on this foundation through the qualification of materials and processes.

“Achieving LR’s Additive Manufacturing Facility Qualification is a significant milestone for Atlantic XL and our customers.”

Atlantic XL’s LPBF system is compatible with a broad range of industrial alloys and capable of producing high-precision components for energy, marine, aerospace and industrial applications.
