# ASTM and Additive Center partner on certification of AM for semiconductors

[ASTM International’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE)](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/astm-international/) has entered into a strategic partnership with [Additive Center B.V. (Eindhoven, Netherlands)](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/additive-center/) to enhance certification and quality assurance for additive manufacturing (AM) suppliers within the semiconductor equipment manufacturing supply chain.

Stemming from the Netherlands, Europe's (and one of the Western World's) most important hubs for semiconductor manufacturing, the collaboration combines Additive Center’s technical consulting and semiconductor sector expertise with ASTM’s established frameworks for standards, qualification, and certification.

The initiative aims to establish the first qualification pathway specifically for AM suppliers serving semiconductor original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), with potential applications across aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and energy industries.

Launched in response to an initiative by a major semiconductor OEM seeking to raise supplier quality, the program supports AM vendors in progressing from operational readiness to formal certification. Additive Center will lead supplier assessments and improvement planning, using its Amify training platform and engineering consultancy to build compliant workflows and competencies.

ASTM will deliver third-party certification through its Additive Manufacturing Certification Program, auditing suppliers against ISO/ASTM 52901, 52904, and 52920, in addition to sector-specific quality standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.

The result is a repeatable assurance model in which suppliers achieve qualification through practical improvement and objective validation, while OEMs gain data-driven visibility into their AM supply chains.
