ASME AM courses are up to 90% off through April

The initiative seeks to leverage eLearning opportunities during COVID-19 crisis

ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers has been working on a number of virtual initiatives focusing on additive manufacturing. One is the AM Medical conference, which was supposed to physically take place in Minneapolis and has now been reimagined as a virtual event. Another initiative is a 90% discount offer on online ASME AM courses focusing on production automation through the month of April.

As the global engineering community transitions to the eLearning space for the foreseeable future, ASME proposes this option as a way for engineers to try something new, refresh their skills and knowledge base, and to explore exciting new fields such as AM from the comfort of home.

The list includes one free course, “Introduction to ASME Standards & Certification (ZABC101)” which provides an introduction to ASME, its Standards and Certification process. Courses focusing on advanced manufacturing, additive manufacturing, bioprinting and robotics are up to 90% off, which can mean savings of more than $2,000.

ASME AM courses

ASME’s Design for Additive Manufacturing with Metals for Engineers course is one of the first commercially available Additive Manufacturing e-learning solutions dedicated specifically to designing metal parts for production/manufacturing. It covers aspects such as Design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), processing & post-processing and value proposition considerations

Other interesting areas include ASME’s Cell Manufacturing for Engineers (designed specifically for engineering professionals that provides education on cell culture techniques, manufacturing and production processes), robotics case studies, end effectors, piping & bolting, and industrial automation.

The ASME Fundamentals of Industrial Automation course provides the key foundational knowledge to properly evaluate industrial automation as a potentially viable technology solution to improve an existing industrial production process.
