# AnyShape adds two EOS M 400-4 systems for aerospace and defense work

[AnyShape](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/anyshape/) is expanding its metal additive manufacturing capacity with two [EOS](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/eos/) M 400-4 systems, targeting aerospace and defense programs that require large, complex components built to repeatable, industrial-grade quality.

Both systems, [equipped with four 400-watt lasers and a 400 x 400 x 400 mm build volume](https://www.voxelmatters.com/i3d-mfg-purchases-12-eos-m-400-4-industrial-3d-printers/), are configured for aluminum alloys, including Scalmalloy, and titanium alloys for large, high-performance components.

The machines are currently progressing through qualification processes for several original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers, with AnyShape preparing them for large-format laser powder bed fusion work.

The investment builds on AnyShape's positioning as a one-stop additive manufacturing partner spanning design, process development, production, post-processing and inspection.

## Pipeline booked into 2028

Roger Cocle, Chief Executive Officer at AnyShape, said the new machines were already generating demand, and hinted at the possibility of further hardware acquisitions.

“Our two new EOS M400-4 systems have barely been installed, and they're already making an impact!” said Cocle in a LinkedIn post.

“Qualification is currently underway, while our pipeline suggests that both machines could be fully booked as early as October — for the next two to three years. A strong signal of the growing demand for industrial additive manufacturing… and a great challenge to have.

“Could the next machines already be on the horizon?”

[The capacity expansion follows AnyShape's selection in May as an industrial partner by Airbus Defence and Space for the Eurodrone program](https://www.voxelmatters.com/anyshape-selected-as-industrial-partner-on-eurodrone-program-with-airbus-defence-and-space/), a four-nation European drone initiative that requires sustained production volumes under aerospace-grade quality standards.

That engagement marked a shift toward long-term, contractually binding production work for the Belgian company, necessitating – and enabling – a commitment to new hardware.

The company also marked a significant milestone earlier this year [when it made its 200th 3D printed titanium implant in the space of 12 months](https://www.voxelmatters.com/anyshape-marks-milestone-with-200-3d-printed-titanium-implants-in-past-year/).
