Zurich-based technology competence center inspire AG and the Hamburg-based consulting company Ampower cooperate by offering joint workshops for Additive Manufacturing. The aim of the cooperation is to enable industrial customers to implement Additive Manufacturing. The workshop program developed by inspire supports the customer in three steps over a period of 8 months in knowledge building, the identification of potential components, component design and the development of an implementation strategy within the company.

“The offered workshop concept was developed on a scientific basis and has already been tested many times. With inspire, we have found a partner who is a leader in the field of systematic identification of applications for Additive Manufacturing. The joint workshop perfectly complements Ampower’s holistic implementation approach.” Matthias Schmidt-Lehr, Partner of Ampower.

Widely referred to as 3D printing, the Additive Manufacturing technology is considered one of the biggest topics of the future in the manufacturing industry. The process enables metal components to be “printed” directly from digital data within a very short time. In addition, the new process allows for designs not feasible with conventional production methods. For example, metallic 3D printing already enables the individual production of implants and dental prostheses in medical technology.

“Our workshop has already been successfully carried out with both large and medium-sized companies. Through the process and production chain know-how of Ampower, the customer will be competently supported after the workshop also in the technical implementation of the identified applications and the establishment of a qualified production.” Dr. Christoph Klahn, head of department at inspire.
