AML3D appoints Frederick J. Stefany to Board of Directors
The former senior US Navy program leader brings more than 40 years of experience research, acquisition, and sustainment programs
AML3D, a developer of industrial metal 3D printing technology, has appointed Frederick J. Stefany to the Board of Directors, signaling a significant step in the company’s strategic push into the US defense sector.
Stefany brings more than 40 years of leadership in the US Navy and Marine Corps, particularly in research, acquisition, and sustainment programs. Most recently, he served as the inaugural Program Manager of the US Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base (MIB). Prior to that, he held the role of acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, managing a $130 billion annual budget and overseeing more than 55,000 acquisition professionals.
His distinguished career includes leadership roles such as Principal Civilian Deputy ASN RDA and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Ships, with responsibility over critical shipbuilding and defense systems. His service has earned him multiple awards, including the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Service and the Navy Distinguished Civilian Service Award.
