# AMITALY brings the full additive manufacturing supply chain to 35.BI-MU in October

Additive manufacturing will have a dedicated home at 35.BI-MU, the major Italian machine tool trade show running October 13–16, 2026, at fieramilano. [AMITALY,](https://www.voxelmatters.com/event/35-bimu-piu-additive/) a new exhibition area organized under the patronage of [AITA—the Italian Association of Additive Technologies](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/aita-associazione-italiana-tecnologie-additive/)—brings together the entire AM supply chain under one roof, including printing systems, feedstock, simulation software, post-processing, testing, and specialized services.

The show's broader scope covers machine tools, robotics, automation, digital manufacturing, and enabling technologies, and AMITALY positions additive as a fully integrated part of that picture rather than a peripheral segment. The area is open to the international market, with exhibitors expected across aerospace, automotive, biomedical, oil and gas, food, and other manufacturing sectors.

## All around the AM process

AMITALY's exhibition structure places process control and repeatability at the center. The focus areas span feedstock quality, thermal management, melt pool simulation, in situ monitoring and full production traceability. Industrial case studies cover a range of adoption pathways — tooling and fixtures, monolithic lightweight structures, repair strategies, re-engineering processes, and on-demand spare parts. Post-processing and inspection services round out the offering, with attention to heat and surface treatments, finishing, and validation aligned with regulated industry requirements.

Sustainability runs through the program as an applied subject rather than a backdrop. Design optimization for weight reduction and part consolidation, on-demand production to reduce inventory and logistics costs, and mass customization to reduce waste are all expected to feature in the way exhibitors frame their technologies and use cases.

## Let's meet up at the AITA booth

The AITA stand within AMITALY will serve as a gathering point for industry players, with several initiatives running across the four days. Three Italian research centers—CIM4.0, Kilometro Rosso, and the ProM Facility operated by Trentino Sviluppo—will present interactive design-for-additive-manufacturing demonstrators. The stand will also feature a selection of sculptural works by artist Ale Guzzetti, produced through 3D modeling and additive manufacturing.

The area will host the award ceremony for Additive Future Lab, a national competition for ITS technical institutes in which students design and produce an innovative component or system using additive manufacturing. The prize-giving brings a student and education dimension to an otherwise industry-facing show, reflecting AITA's interest in developing the next generation of AM practitioners.
