AMFG, a UK-based developer of workflow software for additive manufacturing, has announced the opening of a new international office in Munich, Germany. The new location marks the company’s first office in Germany and signals its intentions to continue its global growth.

The company, which now has its headquarters in London, an office in Munich and a sales office in Lisbon, Portugal, provides an end-to-end workflow software solution for additive manufacturing which covers project management, production planning and scheduling, post-process management and communications tools for OEMs and suppliers.

Over the past year or so, AMFG (formerly RP Platform) has been ramping up its business, introducing new software tools, penning new partnerships (such as with Leo Lane and ARRK Europe) and securing funding. Most recently, the company announced its plans to accelerate the development of its AI-driven AM software solution with a grant from Innovate UK.

The expansion into the German market will enable the software company to grow its business and to readily offer its solutions to the industrial additive manufacturing market in Germany.

Felix Doerr, AMFG’s Head of R&D and Partnerships who is leading the expansion, commented: “The decision to expand our presence into Germany was a logical step in our business growth strategy. Germany has long been a hub for industrial additive manufacturing. As we continue to increase our presence within the enterprise sector, having an additional sales team in Munich will bring us closer to many of the industry’s leading manufacturers and to our existing customer base, both in Germany and on the continent.”

AMFG Germany workflow solution

According to Doerr, AMFG’s focus for the coming year will be on ensuring that its software solutions remain at the cutting-edge of AM management software solutions and will provide its users with the necessary tools to scale their AM facilities and production. AMFG’s goal is to provide the most automated, user-friendly solutions for managing the additive manufacturing process.

“For example, we’re working with several machine manufacturers to achieve full machine integration and connectivity,” added Doerr. “We’re also developing more capabilities for our production management solutions, with the aim of adding more automation to the process. We have quite a few exciting announcements in the pipeline that will bring us closer to achieving our vision of autonomous manufacturing.

“The real benefit of the AMFG platform is that it offers the widest scope for end-to-end additive manufacturing. A lot of companies, in Germany and beyond, have shown a lot of interest in our software, and how workflow software can help them fully realise the potential of additive manufacturing.”

Going forward, it will certainly be interesting to see how AMFG’s expansion will impact the German additive manufacturing market.
