Ambassador of Luxembourg visits Altem’s 3D Innovation Centre

Altem Technologies, a large 3D printer and 3D scanner reseller in India, hosted Peggy Frantzen, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to India at its state-of-the-art 3D Innovation Centre. This visit provided an exclusive opportunity for the Ambassador to witness firsthand the latest advancements in 3D scanning and 3D printing technologies and the impact Altem has created in India with these capabilities.

The 3D Innovation Centre, situated at Koramangala, Bangalore, is a testament to Altem’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation in the realm of 3D scanning and 3D printing. During the Ambassador’s visit, a diverse range of cutting-edge 3D scanners from Artec3D and several industrial FDM, DLP and Polyjet 3D printers from Stratasys were showcased, highlighting Altem’s dedication to delivering unparalleled quality and precision in the world of 3D technologies.

Of particular significance was the collaboration between Altem Technologies and Artec3D Luxembourg. The 3D Innovation Centre proudly showcased a host of 3D scanners from Artec3D, which have played an instrumental role in various transformative projects. Altem demonstrated the profound impact of Artec3D’s scanners on custom prosthetics and orthotics, revolutionizing the medical field by enabling personalized solutions that enhance patients’ lives.

The use of 3D scanners in orthotics and prosthetics help shorten the time required to develop these devices, with higher accuracy and provide better patient comfort. Altem has supported various healthcare organizations in India to implement 3D Digital Workflows to improve patient lives.

In addition to the implications in healthcare, Artec3D Scanners are also being used in culture and heritage preservation in India. Altem presented a remarkable use case involving the digitization of ancient inscription stones in Bangalore. With the assistance of Artec3D scanners, these priceless historical artifacts, bearing the Kannada language from around 750 CE, were 3D  scanned and digitized, preserving a crucial piece of cultural heritage and enabling researchers and enthusiasts to explore this ancient script with unprecedented clarity.

The 750CE Kittayya Hebbal Inscription was replicated using 3D scanning with Artec Space Spider and 3D printing via Stratasys Polyjet Technology. This 3D printed model was instrumental in creating the mold for producing the brass replica.
