AltForm, an Italian manufacturer of laser systems for industrial metal additive manufacturing, will exhibit at IMTS 2026, the International Manufacturing Technology Show, running September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

The company will be hosted at the stand of Sodick Inc. AltForm and Sodick Inc. both belong to the Sodick Group, the Japanese precision engineering company headquartered in Yokohama.

Sodick Co., Ltd. acquired a majority stake in AltForm, then known as Prima Additive, in May 2025, folding the Italian company’s metal additive manufacturing and laser processing operations into the group’s industrial portfolio. Sodick Inc. serves as the group’s North American subsidiary, handling commercial operations, application consulting and technical support across the United States and Canada.

A permanent base in North America

AltForm’s presence in the region extends beyond the show floor. Sodick Inc.’s facility in Schaumburg, Illinois, houses a showroom where customers can evaluate AltForm systems, consult with application engineers on production requirements and access ongoing technical support.

The Print Brilliance 400 on display

AltForm’s centerpiece at IMTS will be the Print Brilliance 400, the flagship of its Print 400 Series and the most advanced powder bed fusion platform in the company’s lineup.

The system has a build volume of 430 by 430 by 450 millimeters and four full-overlap lasers, each able to access the entire build area, giving it a build rate of up to 4×100 cubic centimeters per hour.
