# ALM polymer powders for industrial PBF now available on Farsoon systems

[Farsoon Technologies](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/farsoon/) expanded its open materials ecosystem by qualifying several high-performance polymer powders from [Advanced Laser Materials (ALM)](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/advanced-laser-materials-alm/) for use on its industrial polymer PBF systems. The collaboration made three ALM materials available to Farsoon users: HT-23, PA11 Black, and FR-106, covering applications from high-temperature structural components to flame-retardant electronics and safety-critical transportation parts.

The deal takes on particular significance as [EOS, the global leader in PBF technology](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/eos/) and a direct competitor to Farsoon, is ALM's mother company. This means EOS is a de facto partner of Farsoon, demonstrating the importance of partnership even among competitors. The fact that EOS will supply materials to Farsoon underscores how important the AM materials market is becoming as AM adoption scales worldwide, driven by greater system availability.

The ALM qualification extended that approach to a broader set of validated high-performance compounds, giving manufacturers an expanded library of materials for serial production of end-use parts.

## Three materials, three production profiles

HT-23 is a high-temperature polymer based on PEEK reinforced with carbon fibers, designed as a production-grade alternative to Ultem for demanding structural applications. It offers elevated heat deflection temperature, flame retardancy, and chemical resistance and targets aerospace, automotive, electronics, and industrial manufacturing applications where dimensional stability under thermal load is critical. The material ran on Farsoon's UT252P ultra-temperature polymer system, which is engineered for elevated build chamber temperatures. [Advanced materials specialist AM Rauch](https://www.voxelmatters.directory/company/rauch-cnc-manufaktur/) used HT-23 on the UT252P for application development work, which was showcased as part of the collaboration.

PA11 Black is a bio-based polyamide derived from renewable sources, offering a balance of strength, flexibility, fatigue resistance, and wear resistance suited to automotive, consumer goods, and industrial end-use parts. The material carried industry certifications for long-term performance, a melting temperature of approximately 185°C, and low moisture absorption for consistent mechanical properties across operating conditions.

FR-106 is a flame-retardant polymer developed for safety-critical applications, including electronics housings, railway interiors, and automotive cabin components. It maintained a tensile strength of up to 44 MPa and offered electrical insulation properties, along with regulatory compliance credentials. The material passed the FAR 25.853 60-second vertical burn test, qualifying it for aerospace and transportation applications subject to the most stringent flame resistance standards.

Farsoon supported the three materials across multiple polymer PBF systems—the 1001P, 601P, 403P, and 252P—spanning a range of build volumes, temperature capabilities, and throughput levels. The breadth of compatible platforms allowed manufacturers to match the appropriate system to their production scale, from development builds to high-volume additive series production.
