The recent trajectory of digital transformation in many different companies and industries, especially in sectors such as aeronautical, automotive, electronics, health care, and renewable energy, around the world has led to an increased demand for a workforce with competencies and skills in smart manufacturing. Process automation and manufacturing digitalization in these sectors is imperative, as they ensure high resilience, enhancement in operational efficiency, predictive analytics in maintenance, and mitigation of outages. These sectors demand the right mix of competencies in digital manufacturing technologies, business management, and implementation methods. Alliance University, in collaboration with Wipro 3D, has created this new program in smart manufacturing, as this critical competency is not embedded in students through conventional BTech and MBA programs.

The involvement of Wipro3D, as an industry partner, from conceptualization through to delivery, enables the students to gain valuable insight into the real-world application of additive engineering, data analytics, and cloud practices at various stages of product development.

Among the program’s distinguishing features are experiential learning methods, the development of solutions for industry-defined problems, and individual and team-based projects. Some of the program’s courses will include Digital Transformation, Additive Manufacturing, Disruptive Technology Management, Logistics 4.0 for Reconfiguring Supply Chains, Information Security Governance, Manufacturing Operations Strategy, Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation.

Upon the completion of the program, the students will earn a regular MBA degree from Alliance University, as well as certification from Wipro3D.

Due to the increased demand for these skills associated with transforming conventional manufacturing into a smart practice, on a national and international level, students graduating from the ‘Smart Manufacturing and Digital Leadership’ program are expected to be able to lay a solid foundation for high-impact careers in industrial and strategic sectors.
