AIDRO joins EOS Ecosystem for additive manufacturing as official partner

Stay up to date with everything that is happening in the wonderful world of AM via our LinkedIn community.

Shortly after the official announcement about AIDRO entering into a partnership with EOS, to develop AM for petroleum and natural gas sector applications, the Italian hydraulics and AM specialist has now been added to the EOS Ecosystem of companies which will be officially unveiled during the upcoming Formnext.

Thus AIDRO joins EOS Ecosystem and stands out for the company’s unique expertise and knowledge of  3D printing applications in the oil and gas industry. In fact, AIDRO is the first Italian company to be mentioned as an official EOS partner.

“I am really proud to see my company’s name along with large industry players like Autodesk and GKN in the EOS Ecosystem,” commented AIDRO CEO Valeria Tirelli. “We are not limited by our status as an SME; we are flexible and creative to find solutions and we are happy to be considered a valid partner for the development of additive manufacturing.”

AIDRO’s path in AM began 6 years ago when the company approached additive manufacturing building upon almost 40 years of standard hydraulic valves manufacturing. Initial ideas for toolings and prototypes soon became ideas for special parts and applications that could only be produced using AM technology. Inspired by nature and natural shapes, the company walked along with the industry, keeping the highest standards of quality.

The group of engineers, designers and operators at AIDRO are fully dedicated to the internal additive manufacturing department, which ensures the high technical knowledge and safety that advanced industries requires, especially the oil and gas sector. AIDRO is certified AS/EN 9100, which further validates the company’s level of thoroughness in pursuing the highest standards of manufacturing for complex AM parts such as heat exchangers, valves and other parts with unique functions.

AIDRO is also part of two important working groups for standardization of AM in the petroleum and natural gas industry. The first task group is the API 20S which aims to define minimum requirements for additively manufactured metallic parts. The second JIPs (joint industry project) will help to define guidelines for the qualification of metal 3D printed parts in the oil & gas and maritime industry, together with DNV GL and Berenschot.

“AM is an amazing technology that allows us to solve various problems and give life to an impressive amount of ideas. When it comes to petroleum and natural gas applications, we have the expertise and the technical know-how to develop 3D printed parts, such as fast spare parts and new products,” said Valeria Tirelli concluding that “We [AIDRO] have strengthened our relationship with EOS and with their support on the production processes, we will be stronger and faster to serve giant O&G companies that are more and more interested in the additive technologies.”
