3D print tech Company Aectual made a beautiful debut at the Salone Del Mobile, with an exhibit at Ventura Future with DUS architects and a collaboration with Mae Engelgeer for Wallpaper Handmade. Both show Aectual’s sustainably produced bespoke 3D printed Floors with terrazzo infill.

Design-driven Tech Company Aectual envisions a future where building products are 3D printed in a sustainable and circular manner. ‘We already offer 3D printed interiors, facades and even small houses’ says Hans Vermeulen, CEO of Aectual. With help of their state of the art robotic and software technology, Aectual develops smart building products that can be easily customized to any personal taste.

At Salone del Mobile, the global design audience gets a taste of Aectuals premium technology with the presentation of Aectual Floors: 3D printed flooring patterns with terrazzo infill. The floors are entirely bio-based and combine sustainable production with endless design possibilities. Now it is possible to have custom artwork terrazzo in any design on large surfaces, where each square meter is unique.

Aectuals main exhibition at Ventura Future shows an architectural setting by DUS architects, known for their 3D printed architecture. DUS created a ‘palette of stools’ with colors and infills ranging from green to grey, allowing the audience to touch the bioresin material combined with natural marble stones. Also on display are several massive flooring samples of recently printed floors, such as the 900m2 floor that was recently installed at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Aectual Floors are also part of the ‘Hugging Column’, an installation by renowned textile designer Mae Engelgeer for Wallpaper Handmade. Inspired by the shape of classical columns, it was built by Savoir Beds and upholstered in a custom-made speckled Kvadrat fabric. Its base is covered with matching bespoke Aectual Floors, with custom pattern design by Mae Engelgeer that combines strong graphic white print lines with peach and black terrazzo infill.
