adidas drops latest 3D printed CLIMACOOL LACED sneaker

adidas has released a broader retail drop of its 3D printed CLIMACOOL LACED sneaker, making the model widely available after it had a limited quantity debut in 2024.

The shoe is produced using the company’s “advanced and unique 3D additive manufacturing process” which involves digital light synthesis (DLS) 3D printing over approximately 24 hours, a process the company says eliminates edges, joins, and pressure points from its construction.

The SS26 model is 15% lighter than 2025 versions and features a sculpted lattice structure with strategically placed ventilation zones. Size-specific cushioning is printed into each pair, and the design includes no traditional mold joins. An updated outsole provides additional durability, while the laced construction is designed to accommodate a wider range of foot shapes than earlier iterations.

The shoe is fronted by Women’s NBA player and Olympic gold medalist Kahleah Copper, and NBA player Jalen Williams. The campaign featuring the duo focuses on off-court, everyday wear. 

“For me, I love a simple yet put together look – and comfort must be front of mind,” said Copper. “This new sneaker keeps it minimal and I just love the way it is the perfect foundation for any outfit. What’s even better is that they’re truly designed to breathe, with ventilation from all angles they give my feet so much added air when I walk – something I need more than ever after game-day.”

Williams also cited post-performance recovery as a priority. “Comfort is essential as soon as I step off the court,” he said. “My feet go through so much during training and games, so giving them time to breathe is a non-negotiable — shoes are exactly what I need after an intense session on the court.”

The CLIMACOOL LACED is currently only available in an all-white colorway, with additional colorways and silhouette updates planned throughout 2026.
