ADDiTEC, a leading innovator in advanced metal additive manufacturing solutions, introduced its new FUSION S metal laser PBF (M-L-PBF) technology platform at RAPID + TCT 2025 in Detroit.

Learn how ADDiTEC Fusion S metal 3D printer expands 3D printing possibilities with its advanced laser metal PBF technology. The new LPBF system represents a significant expansion of ADDiTEC’s metal 3D printing portfolio, complementing its Directed Energy Deposition (DED) and Liquid Metal Jetting (LMJ) solutions. With the introduction of LPBF, ADDiTEC has become one of very few companies in the world to offer three complementary metal additive manufacturing technologies, giving customers unmatched flexibility and capability across applications.

“Our new LPBF platform, Fusion S, brings high-precision, production-grade metal 3D printing to the forefront of our offering,” said Brian Matthews, CEO of ADDiTEC. “This launch marks a major milestone in our mission to deliver a full-spectrum metal AM portfolio that addresses the most demanding use cases—from aerospace and defense to medical and energy. RAPID is the perfect venue to showcase this evolution.”

The Fusion S system was developed through a strategic collaboration that combined a reliable Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) foundation with advanced engineering and commercialization expertise. This partnership has resulted in a fully optimized platform for various industrial needs.

The system offers high-resolution printing, making it ideal for producing complex geometries and fine features. Its compact design includes integrated powder handling and post-processing capabilities, ensuring a streamlined workflow. The system is engineered for industrial-grade performance and comes in a user-friendly, turnkey package. One of its standout features is a unique closed powder architecture, which allows users to operate the system without direct contact with metal powders, enhancing safety and cleanliness.

The platform supports optimized print parameters for various advanced alloys, including titanium, stainless steel, and cobalt chrome. This makes it well-suited for high-value applications across aerospace, defense, medical, energy, and tooling industries.

ADDiTEC enhances its value proposition by offering three complementary technologies—Directed Energy Deposition (DED), Liquid Metal Jetting (LMJ), and Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF). This enables customers to select the most appropriate process for their specific application, all while receiving comprehensive support from a single, trusted partner.
