3DQue introduces AMS Mapping

3DQue, a company building automation infrastructure, has released AMS Mapping, a new feature in AutoFarm3D that allows Bambu Lab users to print multicolor files across their entire farm without reslicing or manual colour mapping – even when using third-party filament.

In the standard Bambu workflow, each multicolor file is tied to specific AMS slots. If a file is sent to a different printer, users manually confirm filament assignments at the touchscreen – a tedious task that slows down production and limits flexibility. AMS Mapping changes that.

With AMS Mapping, AutoFarm3D users can slice a multicolor file once, and AutoFarm3D automatically maps the correct colors/materials to the right spools – regardless of which slot they’re in. Files can be queued, routed, and printed across any compatible machine, with no need for manual rework.

“Manual filament mapping works when you’re printing on one machine,” said Steph Sharp, CEO of 3DQue. “But the moment you scale to multiple printers or add auto ejection, it becomes a bottleneck. AMS Mapping makes AMS practical for scaling print farms.”

AMS Mapping automatically assigns print jobs based on filament type and color rather than AMS slot number. A single file can be used across the entire farm with no need for reslicing or manual mapping. The system features a centralized job queue with automatic routing and AMS mapping for all printers, supports on-the-fly color changes after a job is queued without requiring touchscreen input, and continuously tracks filament levels on each spool.
