In time for the New York Toy Fair next week, 3Doodler has announced the addition of a range of new products to its 3D pen portfolio. The new products—which include 3Doodler’s first mobile app as well as its 2019 3Doodler EDU, Create+ and Start product lines—signal the company’s continued dedication to education through play.

The new 3D printing pen products will all be showcased at the upcoming New York Toy Fair at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan from February 16 to 19, 2019.

3Doodler goes mobile

Some might be surprised to hear that 3Doodler doesn’t already have a mobile app, but since its founding six years ago it hasn’t made the move into mobile. Until now! The 3Doodler App, now available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store, will make 3D drawing activities more accessible than ever before.

At launch, the new app will feature over 10 tutorials and projects for the 3Doodler pen, enabling users to access a variety of 3D drawing projects, stencils and step-by-step guides in a mobile format. Compatible with almost any device, including iPads and tablets, will be updated weekly, ensuring there are always new projects to explore.

“The 3Doodler App also includes stencils, allowing for seamless creation and creativity using your device as a canvas (usage and safety instructions apply),” the company writes. “This isn’t doodling with your phone. We’re talking about 3Doodling on your phone. Literally!”

To expand the availability of its EDU Learning Packs, 3Doodler is now distributing its educational products through major retailers and e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Best Buy. Up until now, EDU Learning Packs were only available through 3Doodler’s website (ranging in price from $349 to $1,199).

The educational packages include packs of 3D pens (six or 12), exclusive teaching materials,  lesson plans and enough filament for an entire academic year. Educators can choose from a range of learning packs, including those for the Start or Create+ pens.

“In the classroom, 3Doodler enables hands-on, fun, easy-to-use experiences that create a lasting impact on every student,” said 3Doodler’s Head of EDU Leah Wyman. “We’ve seen the raw and transformative effect of 3Doodler in classrooms of every size, and in every subject, whether in private schools, low-income schools, after school programs, makerspaces, libraries and more.”

Since its founding, 3Doodler has supplied over 8,000 classrooms around the world with its 3D pen products. The hands-on 3D pens, paired with educational lessons and projects, help to promote STEM and provide a more dynamic way of learning thanks to its tactile and visual properties.

“Our goal is to become as ubiquitous as a Crayola or LEGO in terms of being synonymous with creativity and development from an early age,” elaborated 3Doodler CEO Daniel Cowen. “Our mission is to inspire and enable everyone to create, and firmly believe that education is the proper vehicle for this mission. We’ve already seen countless examples of how 3Doodler can positively impact a classroom, and have now started to structure our company to meet that demand.”

Other 2019 releases

In addition to the app and EDU Learning kits, 3Doodler is also unveiling new 3Doodler Start Kits.
