3D Spark earns ISO certification as enterprise data security demands grow
Hamburg-based SaaS firm clears independent security audit covering manufacturing and procurement workflows
3D Spark, a Hamburg-based software company serving industrial manufacturing and procurement teams, has received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification.
The certification, issued by Proks Certification GmbH and valid through May 2029, confirms that 3D Spark has established an independently verified Information Security Management System (ISMS). The ISMS covers risk management, access control, security policies, employee training, technical safeguards, and continuous improvement processes.
The company’s platform handles part files, supplier data, should-costing information, and digital manufacturing strategies — categories of data that industrial firms have grown increasingly protective of as more production planning moves into cloud-based environments.
Security as a prerequisite for enterprise deals
Dr.-Ing. Fritz Lange, Co-Founder and Co-CEO at 3D Spark, framed the certification as a response to what enterprise buyers are now asking of software vendors. “Enterprise customers need more than strong software functionality. They need confidence that their data, processes, and operations are protected,” said Lange.
“ISO/IEC 27001 certification is an important milestone for 3D Spark and supports our mission to help industrial companies make secure, data-driven manufacturing and procurement decisions.”
3D Spark’s platform supports a range of manufacturing analysis tasks, including converting 2D inputs into 3D models, comparing production technologies, estimating cost, lead time, and CO₂ impact, managing request-for-quote (RFQ) workflows, benchmarking suppliers, and evaluating make-or-buy decisions.
The company says it supports flexible deployment options, including on-premise, private cloud, and public cloud environments.
