3D Printz Limited, a 3D printing distribution company based in Telford, UK, has signed a reselling agreement with 3D Gloop!, a local developer of adhesives for 3D printed parts. The glue products have been specifically engineered for ABS, PLA and PETG 3D prints and are described as “ludicrously strong.”

3D Gloop! was founded by Andrew Mayhall and Andrew Martinussen, two engineers with a passion for 3D printing. Mayhall said of the company’s products: “3D Gloop is a specially formulated adhesive compound designed specifically for the plastics used most commonly by 3D printers. We like to say it is hands down the best adhesive for holding ABS, PLA, and PETG 3D prints together. Unlike other ‘commodity’ adhesives such as cyanoacrylate glue, and various epoxies, 3D Gloop! is engineered from the ground up to work with the particular polymers that make up the base plastic.”

The adhesives are multi purpose: they can be used on the print bed of an extrusion machine to ensure first layer adhesion, and will peel away with the eventual temperature change. And they can also be used to cement 3D printed parts together. If the correct formula of 3D Gloop! is used, the adhesive reportedly forms a bond between the two parts that can actually be stronger than the base plastic itself.

3D Printz will now be distributing the company’s adhesive products to clients around the UK. The distribution company has expanded its product offering substantially in the past few months, with a distinct focus on the hobbyist market. The company now has distribution partnerships with South Korea-based Antclabs, the maker of the BLTough auto bed leveling sensor; Micro Swiss LLC, which produces replacement nozzles and hot end kits; and Thought 3D, the developer of Magigoo 3D printing adhesives.

Peter Roberts, director of 3D Printz, said of its latest partnership: “This is a fantastic, multi-functional product which we are delighted to be able to add to the growing range in our online shop. The science behind the adhesive is very interesting. 3D Gloop! contains a mixture of solvents, esters and various other compounds that react in a very specific way to the plastic it is intended to work with. These compounds loosen up the polymer chains in the plastic, allowing them to become more receptive to bonding.”
